This auction features the most important collection of Antarctic books ever to have been held in New Zealand, the superb library of Richard Reaney, noted author, historian and Polar adventurer. Richard Reaney has visited significant historic sites in Antarctica on numerous occasions and played an important part in many of the commemorative expeditions to South Georgia, Antarctica and the Sub-Antarctic Islands.
Over a period of 50 years Richard has visited many countries amassing this world class collection of books on Antarctica and the expeditions relating to it as well as numerous books relating to other international expeditions and the 'Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration'.
