Fundraising Auction for LAMP
The Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance (LAMP) is an international center for advanced studies in music interpretation and performance located at Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in 2014, LAMP has helped hundreds of emerging artists from 25 nations and every province in Canada to push beyond the possible in intensive programs with the great master musicians of our time; luminaries like the pianist Martha Argerich, violin virtuoso Gidon Kremer and acclaimed Nova Scotia soprano Barbara Hannigan, to name a few.
LAMP’s concert stage and classrooms are a place of heightened motivation, where participants push themselves and each other to new levels of achievement in programs including opera, strings, percussion, piano, winds, early music, jazz, chamber music and composition. LAMP is also committed to sharing the talents of our artists, and great music by composers old and new, with our community through extensive outreach programming for students, seniors, preschoolers and the general public. This service learning is a fundamental of the LAMP experience.
Like the gifted young musicians we train, LAMP is propelled by passion and ambition. Fundraising, like this fine art auction, is essential to ensure deserving young artists can access these incredible opportunities. At this point in their careers, they’ve already invested so much in their early training and are often servicing significant student debt. We want to make sure that merit, not money, determines their participation. And you can help, while at the same time beautifying your home or workplace with a unique master artwork by one of our amazing partner artists, including a collection of sculptures, sketches, prints and paintings.
