Over 250 lots comprising works from the private press movement, fine bindings, and a miscellany of rare and finely crafted books. Exemplars of the fine press movement represented include Peter Rutledge Koch, Henry Evans, Harry Duncan, Walter Hamady, Kim Merker, and the godfather of them all, William Morris. Finely bound works include offerings from the Doves Press of T.J. Cobden-Sanderson, an Essex House edition of Shakespeare bound by Bayntun, the Chawton Edition of the works of Jane Austen, and more. A collection of occult and kabbalistic texts includes the first full translation of the Sepher ha- Zohar (into French) and several works by Rudolf Steiner. Natural history texts and hand-colored botanical prints are represented with a wide array of rare and wonderful books.
