March 5th and 6th Toy Train Auction

Stout Auctions is proud to offer a fantastic two-day auction of trains and accessories from the Estate of Dr. Charles Weber (TCA 68-2126). Dr. Charles Weber, a Professor of Analytical Chemistry, was an avid collector and enthusiast of trains. Charlie was known as the "6464 Guru" and was fascinated with the many train variations available to collect. This is evident in viewing his extensive train collection containing many unique items. His nationally know collection was featured on TV, in newspaper articles, Greenberg's Lionel Train Guide and Classic Toy Train Magazine (May 2001). Charlie Weber was an active life member of the TCA Atlantic Division, former President of the division, editor of the Atlantic Division Express and a steering member of the Standards Committee. His contributions to the hobby of train collecting was evident in the articles in the "Express", co-editing of Greenberg's Lionel Train Guide and his expertise in chemistry solved the mystery of fraudulent paint variations of Lionel and American Flyer cars in the 1980's. Dr. Weber's diverse collection covers over 100 years from the early 1900's to current production and features a great selection of prewar and postwar box sets. Many manufacturers are represented including Lionel, American Flyer. Ives, Marx, Unique, Winner Lines, Howard, Beggs, Hafner, TootsieToy, Bing, Built-Rite, G scale, MTH, Williams, K-Line, Kusan and HO scale. All levels of collecting will be represented from Mint in the box to fixer-upper lots for collectors, dealers and operators of all budgets. Plan to attend this fantastic two day sale.
