Auction 46: 100 items 100 categories in $100

The ?Sale of the Century? from Moreshet: The collective dream of collectors, archivists, and documentarians of ephemera?100 items in 100 categories with an opening price of $100 The Sale of the Century represents the active and expanded continuation of a trend influenced by the collectors we have adopted, in order to expand our services to collectors, libraries and lovers of the Jewish past in all its shades. In today?s world, the preoccupation with ?ephemera? (from the Greek, ?for a day?) such as ads, travel and business cards, stickers, labels, leaflets, postcards and more, is ever-expanding. Historians have determined that an important part of history (and the story of the past more broadly) is told via items such as these, and some are even valued highly as items of historic testimony worthy of preservation. As a result, many important and central institutions of preservation (archives, libraries, etc.) have set for themselves the goal of preserving such examples of ephemera. In sales of collections, great emphasis has been placed on promoting such collections for the benefit of institutions, archives and also individual collectors. We wish to emphasize that, since many of these lots contain many items including thick albums and books, as well as metal, olivewood, and heavy objects, purchasers must take into account shipping costs when considering bids and final prices.
