Cody Old West Auction

The Thursday auction offers the best in cowboy, cowgirl and Native American antiques and collectables along with fine western art and graphic memorabilia. This year’s sale on the 23rd of June will feature historic firearms including celebrity Colt Single Actions, Henry and Winchester rifles. Art by Will James, Nick Egenhoffer, Edward Borein, John Hauser and many other notable artists including Cowboy Artists of America members. An important selection of Wild West material including items relating to William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody , “Capt. Jack Crawford” and Pawnee Bill and George A. Custer’s inscribed personal drinking cup This year we are proud to offer some of the rarest early lithograph posters relating to Wild West Shows, and western movies. Tim McCoy, 101 Ranch, Wyoming Bill, Buffalo Bill, Hopalong Cassidy, and many others. An important collection of photographs, “Wild Bill Hickok”, Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Buffalo Bill and others. Several fine 1880’s beaded and quilled Native American items along with decorative as well as historic Indian textiles will be offered. As always the mainstay of the Cody sale is the quality spurs, bits, saddles, chaps, hats and other cowboy or cowgirl regalia. Makers represented at this time include, G.S. Garcia, Visalia, Main & Winchester, F.A. Meanea, R.T. Frazier, Qualey Bros., G.A. Bischoff, Bohlin, and many other frontier greats. The Friday evening sale at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center auction includes the best of contemporary makers of saddles, spurs, jewelry, leather tooling, and fine western art. There will be vintage items as well. The highlight of the Friday sale will be the very important collection from the Kriendler family, founders of the most celebrated restaurant in New York The “21” Club. The items include Peter and Jack Kriendler’s personal gold & sterling Edward H.
