Modern Design

Hindman’s Modern Design auction will feature American and European design spanning the 20th and 21st century. The first section of the auction features a distinguished selection of works from French luminaries Pierre Chapo and Guillerme et Chambron in addition to a suite of Scandinavian flatweave carpets. Standout pieces by important designers Piero Fornasetti, Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, Paul Evans, and two custom commissions by Gene Summers will also be represented. An array of exceptional studio pottery by Jun Kaneko, Claude Conover, Peter Voulkos, Karen Karnes, Emmanuel Cooper, Colin Pearson and others will be on offer. An important suite of Don Reitz clay works from the Estate of Robert and Ruth Vogele will be among the sale highlights. Contemporary designs by visionaries Tejo Remy and Niel van Eijik for Droog will be in direct dialogue with experimental seating by John Chamberlain and Dan Johnson.
