DuMouchelles September 16th Auction
September's evening sale opens with a beautiful Pewabic Pottery Vase, c. 1920, and is followed by two bronze sculptures by Marshall Fredericks (American, 1908-1998). The sale also features quite a selection of sterling silver, ranging from a flatware such as Gorham's 'Lansdowne' Pattern, a service for eight, to a Towle reticulated Basket; almost 30 lots. Decorative Objects abound, including a collection of fine clocks, such as a W. Tryer (York) English Mahogany Mantle Clock, a Japy Freres & Co. Brass, Bronze & Glass Mantle Clock & a Robert Wood (London) Mahogany Bracket Clock, c. 1800. There are almost 80 lots of Fine Art with such interesting items as a 19th Century English School (after Sir William Blake Richmond) Oil on Canvas depicting a Portrait of an Elderly Woman, Nine John James Audubon Colored Octavo Prints and a Watercolor by Paul Desmond Brown (American, 1893-1958). The highlight of Friday's sale is, no doubt, the twenty-two lots of Firearms and other weaponry including a Belgium Browning Bolt Action Rifle (Olympian Grade), two Laurona Eibar 12 Gauge Shotguns and a Beretta Competition Trap 12 Gague Shotgun.
