Terms & Conditions
Buyer's commission
Baias charges 24% on the adjudication price. Internet platform commission (5%) will be charged upon it.
Methods of payment and collection of lots
Purchased lots must be paid to Baias Ltd. no later than 3 business days after the auction date. Catalogue
Estimates in the catalogue are expressed in Euros (?).
A specific condition report on one or more lots may be requested before the auction.
Any reference to the condition of the work in the catalog entry does not intend to be a complete description of the condition. Our staff is not trained as restorers, so the condition report, while done by competent and bona fide personnel, may not be comprehensive. We always recommend direct viewing of the lot and seeking the advice of a trusted restorer or consultant before making an offer.
Any assertions regarding the work's authorship, attribution, date, origin, provenance and condition constitute opinion and not fact, so no dispute will be accepted after purchase. Lots are sold on "as is" basis through public auction, so no right of withdrawal is available.
Shipping and Fine Arts
BAIAS Ltd. does NOT handle the shipping of the lots purchased. Nevertheless, it will be our care to facilitate in every way the delivery of the purchased lot by suggesting an agent that performs the shipping service according to the rules in force in Italy.
Lots with materials of protected species and lots subject to embargoes
BAIAS will give explicit notice in the catalog about the materials that compose each lot and will treat them in accordance with the regulations in force in Italy. It is buyer's responsibility to verify that these materials can be imported into the country of destination of the goods BEFORE making any offer.
The same applies to artifacts from certain civilizations (e.g., lots of Iranian origin, archaeology). It is the buyer's responsibility to verify that lots with such attributions can be imported into the country of destination of the goods BEFORE making an offer.
