The next Fine Books & Manuscripts auction at Skinner features a complete set of American presidential signatures from Washington through Franklin Roosevelt. Other gems in the sale include an important draft manuscript petition of the XIII Amendment abolishing slavery, an ALS from Washington discussing architectural plans for a house in Federal City and an interesting historic letter from Abraham Lincoln to Massachusetts Governor John Andrews concerning Lincoln's ideas as to the defense of Boston Harbor. The sale will include diverse offerings from fine books, historical manuscripts, natural history prints, globes, and maps including an early 16th century world projection by Waldsemuller. The Fine Books & Manuscripts sale is held in conjunction with Boston's annual Antiquarian Book Fair.
