May Auctions: Day 2
DuMouchelles
DuMouchelles’ Friday, May 19th sale features works by renowned artists such as Guy Carleton Wiggins, Zoltan Sepeshy, Park Seo-Bo, G.L. Nixon, Gilberto Aceves Navarro, Antoine Blanchard, Vera Rockline, and many others. Among the highlights of the collection are an oil on canvasboard by Guy Carleton Wiggins titled Wall Street Winter. The painting, measuring 16'' by 13'', captures the essence of winter in the financial district of New York City. Another exceptional piece is a gouache and oil on masonite painting by Zoltan Sepeshy entitled “Why Be Afraid?”, created around 1940. Another highlight in our collection this month is a Mixografia® Monotype on hand-made paper by Park Seo-Bo, titled Ecriture, Series II, #10. Created in 1994, the artwork measures 31'' by 23.5''. We also have antique Persian rugs, including a Lavar Kerman handwoven wool rug from around 1910/20, measuring 7'10'' by 10', and a Tabriz handwoven wool prayer rug from around 1880-1900, measuring 3' by 4'10''. These rugs are a testament to the exceptional quality of Persian craftsmanship. For collectors interested in sculptures, the sale features a bronze and marble sculpture titled "First Game" by Paul-Edouard Delabrierre. Measuring 18.5” by 26'' and 9'' in depth, it captures the playfulness of a group of children playing. The collection also includes antique furniture such as a Chippendale style dining table and 12 chairs, and a George Nelson for Herman Miller dining table. There’s something for everyone in DuMouchelles’ monthly auctions. What will you find next? Be sure to view the first session of our May sale hosted May 18th, 2023.
