Join Rivich Auction for a deep dive into art and design. Classic Mid Century designers such as Herman Miller, Le Corbusier, Paul McCobb, and Kip Stewart collide with designers and artists rarely seen at auction such as Jim Lutes, Anthony Fry, and Gerrit Rietveld. Highlights include scarcely seen pieces from Erwin & Estelle Laverne, Konstantin Grcic, the Bourollec brothers, and more. This catalogue is complimented by the estates of conscientious collectors whose eye for design and all things good beautifully meld to create this sublime assortment. One collector, whose taste was simply impeccable, was Christina Kraemer. Christina moved from Cincinnati to Chicago in 1979 to pursue a Master?s degree in social work at the University of Chicago. She fell in love with the city and made it her home for 45 years. As a dedicated social worker, she devoted her life to supporting children in need, particularly those in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services. Christina was also deeply involved in Chicago?s art scene. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and, though a talented painter, never called herself an artist. Her love for the arts, music, history, and literature was matched by a passion for travel?she spoke fluent Italian and French?and a taste for good chocolate. Known for embracing the unconventional, Christina?s life and unique collection reflect her curious spirit, generous heart, and lasting impact on the communities and causes she cared for deeply. Come bid and celebrate the lives and collections of these incredible consignors.
