Fine Books
The Fine Books sale will prominently feature a selection of books from the collection of late Harvard University astronomy professor and book world legend, Dr. Owen Gingerich. Expect household names in the field of early astronomy, along with great rarities, exciting sammelbands, and exceptional copies in original bindings, many with early marginalia. Be on the lookout for John Dee's copy of Sebastian Munster's Hebrew Grammar.
Modern firsts and nineteenth-century literature, along with a mix of important twentieth-century art books, will include a signed first edition copy of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, presented to the California newspaper editor who gave him his first job; and a hard-to-find suite of Picasso's etching for artist.
