Contemporary Art
The Contemporary Art auction will feature artwork from the Pop era, lead by Andy Warhol's Mickey Mouse from Myths, up until today's living and working artists, including Sam Falls and Vik Muniz, among others.
We are excited to offer a strong selection of artwork from the 1970s and 1980s, including early works by Al Loving and Richard Prince, a late work on paper by Carroll Sockwell, and prints by Eduardo Chillida from the ambitious Euzkadi series.
The fall sale will also offer an array of artwork from across the globe. Artwork by Chiho Aoshima, a Japanese pop artist; Darío Morales, a Colombian artist inspired by nineteenth Century masters; ceramicist Kouame Kakahá who lives and works in Ivory Coast; and Shonto Begay, a painter of modern Navajo life, display diverse and imaginative interpretations of contemporary life. A strong selection of African American art, including iconic prints by Faith Ringgold, including Tar Beach 2, based upon the artist's same-titled quilt, and a thought provoking multi-layered portrait by David Shrobe.
