Our May 5th Fine Estates Auction - the "Cinco de Mayo" sale - comprises over 400 choice eclectic items sourced from estates in New York City, Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode Island. Prime lots include a vintage 1962 Van Cleef & Arpels 18K gold, pearl and aventurine bead twist necklace being sold for a New York City lady; an important pair of George II carved balloon seat side chairs, similar to chairs documented to Giles Grendy, tracing provenance to a Newport Rhode Island estate; several sterling silver lots, including a Gorham sterling five piece tea and coffee service; an extensive James Robinson sterling flatware service in the Queen Anne pattern representing a unique opportunity due to the size and number of matching and closely matching pieces; a trove of fine decorative furniture and fine art from two separate noted interior designers' storage collections, many fine bronzes being sold for the Estates of Thomas & Bunty Armstrong; a large group of decorative and fine art being sold for a New York City collector; and a large collection of over 70 pieces of fine art for a second New York CIty collector.
