Vintage Posters from the Gooding Collection

A chance encounter on a beautiful winter's evening in the 1990s, during a walk through a ski resort the Goodings frequented, led to a lengthy and passionate relationship with vintage posters.

Lured into a gallery by the bright light, bold colors and vivid designs, they warmed up over a glass of wine, and purchased their very first poster: the genesis of their collecting focus that would continue for more than two decades.

This collection was formed to reflect the individual interests of both collectors—one drawn to equestrian subjects, particularly works related to horses and dressage, and the other with a long-standing interest in art, graphic design, aviation, and the history of lithography, all of which are well represented.

A shared love of travel and appreciation for notable artists of the Belle Époque
