Contemporary Art
Our June 4, 2026 auction of Contemporary Art will include iconic works from artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. We continue to offer a diverse group of living artists alongside Pop, Post Modern, Minimalist, and Photorealist artists.
We look forward to offering a Romare Bearden collage, ""Carolina Sunset,"" from 1984, recalling his ""Martinique"" imagery. From the same year, is Jane Dickson's ""Shooting Gallery,"" an oil stick work on paper depicting a pattern-rich snapshot of a carnival game. Dickson's carnival and thrill ride works, which explore fleeting and artificial pleasure, are a connecting thread in her œuvre. Another captured moment from this world is ""Trapeze Artists,"" 2001, by Verne Dawson.
Highlights from the twenty-first century include Banksy, ""Flying Copper,"" 2004; ""Vik Muniz, Beggar #2 (from Beggars after Rembrandt),"" 2005; ""Chuck Close's Roy Paper/Pulp,"" 2010, a dizzying and impressive multiple of stenciled paper pulp; Simone Leigh, ""Cowrie Shell,"" 2012; and an assemblage by Vanessa German.
