Our August 11th Fine Estates Auction features over 350 lots of of eclectic and interesting choice lots sourced from estates and collections in New York City, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. There are Norwegian sterling and enamel wares from a Brookfield CT estate; five dozen lots from a penthouse at 444 East 92nd Street in New York City, featuring a pair of French Empire brass mounted mahogany library cabinets, a signed palace sized carpet and a monumental oil on canvas after Giovanni Barrbiere; several fine 18th century English furniture items from an estate in Westerly RI; over two dozen portrait miniatures from an estate in Roxbury CT; a Portsmouth NH inlaid chest from an estate in Cambridge MA, along with a large collection of fine art and woven Native American baskets; a monumental bronze and concrete Triton garden fountain from a Litchfield County collector; a very rare Louis XVI style gilt bronze nounted parquetry marble top commode attributed to Emmanuel Zweiner, Paris, late 19th century from a Watertown CT estate; four Dale Chihuly art glass sculptures and other fine art glass items from a Middlebury CT collector; and several sterling silver flatware services and holloware from various other estates.
