Prints / Editions

Lyon & Turnbull is delighted to present its inaugural edition of Prints / Editions, a curated auction of Old Master, Modern and Contemporary prints, led by Head of Sale Kirstie Davidson from its new specialist Prints department in London, with viewing at our Connaught Street location. This sale offers a dedicated platform for prints and multiples, ranging from Old Master prints to Contemporary editions, reflecting the breadth and continuing evolution of printmaking as a medium. The auction explores the artistry of printmaking across intaglio, relief and planographic techniques, alongside editioned multiples, bringing together works of exceptional quality and strong collector appeal. Our upcoming flagship sale offers a fantastic group of prints by David Hockney led by his Californian hued iPad drawing Oranges, bright and colourful Untitled No. 516, and dazzling Pool Made with Paper and Blue Ink for Book. Further highlights include a collection of lithographs by L. S. Lowry, led by his distinctive Going to the Match, Harland Miller?s Death, What?s in it For Me?, and Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn?s iconic Self-Portrait in a Velvet Cap with Plume. The sale also features a select group of photographs by renowned photographers Richard Learoyd and Nick Brandt. The sale will also celebrate the strong history of British printmaking through works by modern British artists including William Nicholson, John Wells, Denis Mitchell, Bryan Wynter, Henry Moore, John Craxton and Patrick Heron among others.
