Will never buy from again.

Beautiful items and responsive auction team. Mail Boxes Etc Mayfair was wonderful.

I won three panels of rare vintage William Morris fabric from Turnbull & Lyon. All went well in terms of the auction and payment, no issues. However, arranging the shipment of these panels from the UK to the US leaves something to be desired. Many auction houses now offering in-house shipping (excepting certain large items such as furniture) but L & T does not-yet-hopefully they will soon. I was left with one option, MBE Edinburgh, to pick up and ship. I feel the rate was at least 3x what it should have been but I had no other options. I might bid with L & T again with careful consideration regarding shipping cost, perhaps only small items. More (reasonable) shipping options are needed for international shipment.

The quality of the pre and post auction accommodations this auction house gives you is second to none. Everything from photography in situ to patience in having items shipped to post auction coordination of shipment has been superlative. Few auction house are as thorough, as courteous and as knowledgable as L & T. Coupled with exquisite and unique offerings, you cannot go wrong here.

Payment for the purchases is at the mercy of their judgement about the proper exchange rate, and the shipping had to be arranged entirely on my own. Their recommendation was for a white-gloved team to pick up three posters and ship them and was going to cost almost twice as much as the posters-over a thousand dollars! The shipperI used was still expensive primarily because they required a wire transfer which for international routing incurred a substantial bank fee. The posters are great but the auction company’s conduct and England’s export taxes and the extortionistic shipping rates and policies I won’t do business with them again.

The bidding and post auction went very smoothly. The only issue was on my end. I had to contact my bank and change my Visa card for international use. Both Lyon & Turnbull and Crown Art shipping were great, the object arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Overseas buyer. The staff was helpful with questions, and the shipping suggestion worked well too.

All aspects of the transaction were handled professionally and in a timely manner. Lyon and Turnbull's decorative arts post 1860 is second to none!

The item received and was as described. Shipping costs by approved shipper were outrageous. I would bid with this auction house, but I would not bid very high on anything due to extremely high shipping costs.

this was my first experience of dealing with Lyon and Turnbull, the on-line registration was easy, I used live bidding as well as absentee bids. Invoicing was swift (always a plus from my point of view) and arranging for my won items to be sent down to the London office smooth. Wonderful service from all, whether on the phone or in person.

The auction house misrepresented the conditions, was dishonest, untrustworthy, and apparently the old restoration turned out to be the result of shipping, suggesting that people shouldn't buy from him.

I bid throug Live Auctions and the wrong address was shown. This auction house did not just accept but contacted me to ensure the address was correct. It was not, so I was able to give them my UK address and they arranged packing and posting. I would not hesitate to bid at this auction again and highly recommend them.

Great expertise of the art experts at this auction house. They attributed the three works to Edina Altara and got it right. The works have been certified by the artist's archives as authentic. There are also vintage photos while the painter is painting them. Congratulations, excellent work.

No problem in communication with the auction house, but the recommended shipper, who packed the item and sent it further, was extremely bad choice. High prices with an inadequate packaging has resulted in completely broken item, value over 1000 pounds. Never will purchase from this auction house again!
