MODERN MADE

The 15th edition of MODERN MADE presents a rich panorama of fine art, design, photography, craft and studio ceramics, spanning the early 20th century to today. Taking place on 30 October 2026 in London, this edition brings together Modern British art and European Modernism with exceptional furniture, lighting and objects, the sale celebrates the connections between disciplines and the pleasure of collecting across them. At its heart are several distinctive collections. Works from Tom Alexander?s collection of Modern British art and studio ceramics reflect the personal relationships he formed by writing directly to artists. Gerald Summers furniture from the collection of Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst, founders of Dartington Hall, embodies their pioneering commitment to art, design and making. Lighting by John and Sylvia Reid further explores the spirit of innovation that helped shape post-war Modern Britain. The sale also celebrates the ?migr? influence on British cultural life, featuring ceramics by Lucie Rie and Hans Coper, photographs by Dorothy Bohm, works by Peter Potworowski and studio ceramics owned by celebrated jewellery designer Gerda Fl?ckinger C.B.E. Fine art highlights include Cedric Morris?s Experiment in Red, returning from Kenya after half a century, alongside important works by Paul Nash, Victor Pasmore, Picasso, Delvaux and Marquet. The cover work, Paolo Scheggi?s Zone Riflesse, captures the spirit of MODERN MADE: art and design brought into conversation, inviting collectors to discover unexpected affinities and create their own.
