The Saturday sale opens with the art collection of a Dearborn Heights lady including Steuben, Tiffany, Thomas Webb, Galle and Stumpf, Touvier & Violette; a Tiffany Studio counter balance desk lamp, and Handel reverse painted and leaded glass lamps, one of which features a view of Mt. Fuji painted by John Bailey. From a Grosse Pointe Farms estate, Italian marble busts, a pair of Bohemian glass portrait Urns, French furniture, and beautiful mid 19th-early 20th century sterling silver including a pair of sauce boats by William Forbes for Ball, Tompkins & Black. Antique French and Austrian furniture, such as an impressively carved bed purported to have belonged to the Archduke of Austria, Sunderland luster and 19th century glass from a private collection, East Lansing; Chinese and Japanese porcelain, carved jade from a Bloomfield Hills gentleman; and from a West Bloomfield lady, Chinese and Japanese porcelains, Lalique and Steuben. From private collectors, a Zsolnay Eosin vase; Ridgways, Mintons and Rosenthals dinners sets; Daum pate de verre; Kathrine Baumann whimsical minaudiere from a west coast collector; fine jewelry and a variety of oriental rugs from semi antique to modern.
