SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS is pleased to announce our upcoming Summer auction, which will take place at Bergamot Station on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of June 2004. The Saturday auction, which begins at 4pm, is dedicated to fine art photography and photo based art, including superb works by Horace Bristol, William Eggleston, Diane Arbus, Cindy Sherman, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jock Sturges. The extensive SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS collection spans a variety of mediums, and Sunday’s auction, beginning at 1pm will offer visitors an exquisite selection of paintings, rare prints, drawings, and sculptures, consisting of seminal works by such artists as Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Raymond Pettibon, Henri Matisse, Frank Stella, and George Herms, to name a few. In addition, bidders will have the opportunity to purchase works from a wide range of other well established, mid-career artists, in addition to exceptional works by local and lesser-known artists.
