Rare Book Auction: Lots 1-50
The following are the first 50 lots of Art+Object Rare Book auction. They include several first editions by Beatrix Potter, including the rare 1929 Peter Rabbit Almanac and a signed edition of 'The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse'; a number of early first editions and ephemera relating to Winston Churchill; and the 1935 title Hawaiian Surfboard by the legendary Tom Blake, who is widely regarded as the founder of modern surf culture.
The complete catalogue is available at the Art+Object website and it includes a number of books and original watercolour illustrations from the estate library of Dorothy Butler, author and owner of the well known 'Dorothy Butler Children's Bookshop'; Captains' James Cook and James King - A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean... [1785] with the folio atlas; rare Antarctic histories including John K. Davis - With the "Aurora" in the Antarctic and a large selection of New Zealand hunting titles.
