Supportive documentation must be supplied to confirm that the specimen was acquired pre-CITES before a certificate can be issued. Documentation that may assist in the application are - ?proof of acquisition and/or origin of the specimen (this may include the overseas pre-CITES certificate), or valuation certificate from an expert in the field or antique dealer showing the age of the item? also the specific scientific name of the species is now required. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PURCHASER TO ACQUIRE ALL SAID PERMITS: Regarding shipping, there are not many companies that are willing to ship such items now due to the administration and processing time for permit requests which also makes the shipping of these items more costly. So that you are aware this process may take upwards of months before you receive your purchased items.
