November 7th and 8th PA Toy Train Auction

Stout Auctions is proud to offer for sale the train collection from the Lawrence S. House estate. Lawrence Larry House, was an honor roll member of the TCA #HR-71-4063. He served as Vice President and President of the TCA Eastern Division, was a member of the Board of Directors and The Standards Committee. Larry started collecting trains in the early 1970's and assembled a private collection comprised of a fantastic mix of prewar European and American trains, accessories and toys. Carette, Marklin, Bing, Doll & Cie, Bassett Lowke, Exley, Hornby, Karl Bubb, Kibri and others highlight the European trains and toys in his collection. The American trains are represented by Lionel, American Flyer, Ives, Carlisle & Finch, Marx, Voltamp, Elektoy, Dorfan, Howard, Boucher and others. One of Larry's most prized possessions in his collection was the Jehu Garlick electric loco from 1895. The Garlick locomotive represented the beginning of electric toy trains in America. Currently the Garlick loco in Larry's collection is the only known surviving example of this type. Please also check the Friday session on November 7th, which will be made up of trains and accessories from various estates and private collections. This sale will have a wide range of modern era, post war and prewar trains from many manufacturers. Please call 724-528-1500 or gary@stoutauctions.com for information or to order a full color catalog for the Saturday session of this auction.
