Description
Superbly ornate cast bronze vessel, known as a kuduo, was a treasured possession of the kings and courtiers of the Akan kingdoms. Vintage bronze (40 to 60 years old). Not only were gold dust and nuggets held in these vessels, but also items of immense personal value and significance. The vessel depicts a seated royalty under an umbrella surrounded by their staff, with the figure of four chameleons serving as handles to bring luck and protection. Measures:.... 12"in.
