"It is my pleasure to sign here. ‘Eichmann in my Hand’ will remind you that a story from the past blends into the present and our future…"
Malkin’s family fled Nazi Germany in 1936, immigrating to Palestine where Peter, at the age of 12, became an explosives expert for Haganah, beginning his 27-year career as a secret agent, culminating with serving as Mossad’s Chief of Operations. In 1960, Malkin, after receiving a tip from Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, led an operation in Argentina to capture Nazi officer and organizer of the Holocaust, Adolph Eichmann and bring him to justice in Israel, a move criticized by the United Nations. The 1961 trial was broadcast internationally and helped raise awareness about the extent of Germany’s genocide against Jews, an event explored in Hannah Arendt’s book Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil. Found guilty on all 15 counts, Eichmann was hanged in 1962, the only judicial execution ever conducted in Israel. In 1990, Malkin published Eichmann in My Hands, which was made into the movie The Man Who Captured Eichman starring Robert Duvall.
In very fine condition.
