Bongo the Bear production background from Fun and Fancy Free. (Walt Disney, 1947) Stunning stand-alone background featuring a forest scene from the "Bongo the Bear" sequence of Fun and Fancy Free. Accomplished in tempera and acrylic on a 9 ¾ in. x 18 ½ in. leaf of animation paper, image size is 8 in. x 18 ¼ in. The contrast between shaded areas and pools of light is rendered exceptionally well. The background appears on Bongo's first night in the woods as a family of rabbits retires to their nest for the evening. Mounting remnants at the upper margin, small area of lower margin trimmed away.
