Sicily. Syracuse, ca. 465-425 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.74g).
Boehringer 673; SNG Copenhagen 660.
Obverse: Charioteer driving quadriga facing right; above, Nike crowning horses. Reverse: Head of Arethusa or Artemis facing right, hair bound four times with ribbon; on left, O; around, four dolphins. Almost Very Fine, compact flan, worn dies, with die break at forehead - eye on obverse.
Ex: Harmer Rooke Ancient Coins, 1990.
