Description
Studied violin and won first prize at the Paris Conservatoire. Wounded during the war, he had to relearn to play. Together with Pablo Casals and Alfred Cortot, he formed a world-renowned trio. He taught at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and founded the Lang-Thibaud competition with the pianist Marguerite Lang. He was a friend of Eugène Ysaÿe, who wrote his Second Sonata for him. He died in a plane crash.Autographed photograph, dated 21.10.1948 dedicated to Paul Langer.
