Satyr mit Fruchtschurz. Römische Kaiserzeit, 2. Jh. n. Chr. H 68cm. Weißer, feinkristalliner Marmor. Der Gefolgsmann des Dionysos ist von knabenhafter Statur. Er trägt nur ein über der rechten Schulter verknotetes Tierfell, das die linke Schulter bedeckt. Das Fell bildet am linken Arm einen Schurz, der mit Früchten gefüllt ist. Er lehnt mit überkreuzten Füßen an einem Baumstamm, an dem eine Syrinx hängt und zu dessen Füßen ein kleiner Stier sitzt. Die Rechte hielt ein Lagobolon, von dem noch Teile am rechten Oberarm erhalten sind. Der Baumstamm und das Gewand sind nur grob angelegt und wirken etwas unfertig. Das kann aber auch ein Stilmittel sein und einen bewussten Kontrast zu der fein polierten Oberfläche des jugendlichen Karnats bilden. Kopf, rechter Unterarm und linker Unterknöchelbereich gebrochen. White, fine-crystalline marble, H 68 cm. The companion of Dionysus is of boyish stature. He wears only an animal skin tied over his right shoulder, covering the left shoulder. The skin forms an apron on the left arm, filled with fruits. He leans with crossed feet against a tree trunk, from which a syrinx hangs and at the foot of which a small bull sits. In his right hand, he held a lagobolon, parts of which are still preserved on the right upper arm. The tree trunk and the garment are only roughly outlined and appear somewhat unfinished. However, this could also be a stylistic device, creating a deliberate contrast to the finely polished surfaces of the youthful figure. Head, lower left arm and lower left ankle broken.
