Description
Original vinage art advertising poster for an 'Exhibition of Soviet Film Posters', and published by Sovexplortfilm, a Soviet government agency established in 1945, responsible for distributing Soviet films abroad. The agency also had a monopoly on importing foreign films to the Soviet Union. Soveksportfilm had its own cinemas in Paris on the Champs-?lys?es , in the heart of Helsinki , in Cairo and in India. When Mikhail Gorbachev became President of the Soviet Union in 1985, the reforms he initiated affected cinema culture and ended the activities of Sovexportfilm. The artwork features a painting pallette with a paintbrush and pencil, with the title writen in blue text and stylised as a strip of moving image film with sprockets. Very good condition, creasing. Country of issue: Russia, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 90x60, year of printing: 1970s.
