Description
L:5.3cmW:5cm This is a Hetian white jade plaque with double birds holding pearl pattern from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, a fine jade ornament of the Qing court. The plaque is made of Hetian white jade, with a ?? and lustrous texture and restrained luster; it is in a rounded square shape, decorated with key fret patterns on the edges, and a cloud-shaped loop on the top for wearing. The front side is carved with shallow relief of double birds holding pearl pattern: the birds have an intimate posture and flowing wings, with delicate and smooth decorative carvings, fully embodying the "exquisite and elegant" artistic style of Qianlong jade wares. The double birds holding pearl symbolizes "harmonious unity and auspicious perfection", a common auspicious theme of Qing jade wares.
