Description
British. Likely 1870s. A Martin Brothers floral pitcher. While undated, this piece, with its profuse geometric patterning, is typical of the Martin wares produced in the 1870s. Attractive and striking contrast of the strong cobalt and brown Bristol-ware style salt-glazing. Note the floral appliques and dramatic treatment of the handle terminals. Marked, "RW Martin".
