Description
British. Likely 1870s. The Martin Brothers Potters were inspired by Gothic Revival and this pitcher is a stunning example. Covered in low-relief carving of monstrous dragons with partial female torsos. The handle is expertly sculpted with a roaring head. While undated, this is likely an 1870s piece reflecting Wallace Martin's early architectural influences. Marked, "R.W. Martin & Bros London & Southall", on base.
