COLT MODEL 1903 HAMMERLESS SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 32 Rimless Smokeless (32 ACP). S# 571746. Bbl. 3 3/4". Model 1903 Hammerless ("Model M") semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt in 1945 under contract for the U.S. military. The left side of the slide is marked with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo, with "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is stamped with a poorly struck, virtually indistinct U.S. crossed cannons ordnance escutcheon to the right of the safety lever, with "U.S. PROPERTY" marked on the right. Left side of the bbl. is appropriately marked "COLT 32 AUTO". Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall, save for on the bbl. which is blued. Chamber area of bbl. is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Fixed serrated blade front sight and dovetailed square notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via the full S# on the interior. MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original parkerized finish, exhibiting some spots of light edge wear, some light superficial handling marks, as well as some small white flecks of apparent white paint overall. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as a few nicks to the diamonds, but otherwise remain very good overall.
