Top flat is marked "Old Reliable" with Bridgeport, Conn. address. Blue finish with case colored action. Double set triggers. Schnabel tipped walnut forearm and straight grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Weight: 10lbs. 7oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Dr. R.L. Moore letter stating: "SERIAL NUMBER 158681 IS DESIGNATED AS MODEL 1874 SPORTING OCATAGON RIFLE AND WAS INVOICED TO C.O. TRASK AND SON, BANNACK, MONTANA, AND WAS SHIPPED IN CARE OF KEISEL AND COMPANY WHO HAD A UTAH ADDRESS. THE TOWN IN UTAH IS A BIT BLURRED IN THE RECORDS BUT APPEARS TO BE "CORVINE". THIS PARTICULAR SHARPS WAS OF 44 CALIBER, 2 5/8 INCH SHELLS, OR 44-90, FULLY TWENTY EIGHT INCH OCTAGON BARREL. IT ALSO HAD DOUBLE TRIGGERS. THE WEIGHT ON THIS GUN WAS EXACTLY TEN AND ONE HALF POUNDS, THE LIST PRICE WAS FORTY TWO DOLLARS. SHIPMENT DATE WAS AUGUST 17, 1877 FROM THE BRIDGEPORT PLANT.". CONDITION: bbl. retains 50% dull worn blue showing edge wear and handling marks with scattered spots of very light pitting. Action has faded to mottled gray showing spots of age related darkening. Sanded and refinished wood shows scratches, marks, and small dents. lever hangs loose when action is closed. Properly functioning double set triggers. Dark lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling.
