REVOLVER. Cal. 11mm. S# LF3824. Bbl. 4 3/4". Model 1870 double action revolver mfg. by Lefaucheux. Top strap of the frame is marked "LEFAUCHEUX/ BTE S.G.D.G. PARIS". Left side of the frame is marked with Lefaucheux's broken pistol logo, above the S# "LF3824" and "G". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the hammer, trigger, cyl. base pin, and ejector rod, which are polished in-the-white (likely originally strawed). Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered white painted checkered wood grips, featuring a lanyard swivel and ring on the butt. Dovetailed raised bead front sight with frame V-notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. CONDITION: metal components retain trace to fair amounts of their original blue finish, with the balance having faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild pitting overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting consistent spots and patches of light to mild pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Action is out of time, functioning appropriately in SA mode, and occasionally in DA mode. Grips are good, as painted, exhibiting scattered superficial handling marks., with the right panel exhibiting a crack running through the upper screw escutcheon.
