19.75" overall, 14" dagger point blade, 1.7" wide, .33" thick, hollow ground, sculptured heavy 3" brass cross guard, flattened octagonal rosewood handle with 2 round brass escutcheons, ribbed brass pommel & ferrule, original tooled brown leather sheath with belt loop. This impressive dagger pictured on full page of Johnston's "ACCOUTREMENTS V" on page 171. CONDITION: very good to fine overall, blade retains some luster with staining, small nicks in very sharp cutting edge near tip, handle is fine, missing round escutcheon on one side, sheath is fine with scuffing. PROVENANCE: James R. Johnston collection. (02-26002/JS). NON-GUN. $5,500-7,500.
