Description
Canadian. 1860-1883. While unmarked, the glaze of this flask clearly indicates it was made by Jacob Henry Ahrens of Paris, Ontario. This rosy coloured glaze with heavy veining is one of Ahrens' most iconic and attractive. The flask form is extremely rare in early Ontario pottery, especially so in earthenware.
Size
8.25" x 5" x 3".
Condition
Very good condition. Hairline cracking around the base of the spout indicates the top may have broken and reattached. Minor chipping around the base edge, the most significant being 1/2" in diameter.
