The form of this carving is similar to the Winous Point, Ohio, decoys that bear the "GAS" George A. Stanley Rig marking. Bears the "SGH" stamp on the underside designating the Somers G. Headley Collection. Additionally, the hollow carving has been struck three times with a "CC" brand, which could be for Winous Point's Bolton family members, including Charles, Chester, or Castle.
Old Philadelphia-school repaint with moderate gunning wear. Old nails to cracks in neck and lower right side.
