Description
Three-Eyed Dzi Bead, H: 4.8cm, D: 1.2cm, 10g. Passed down or unearthed in the Xizang area, it is a sacred object of Tibetan Buddhism made of nine-eyed stone shale (natural agate), with the black and white decorative patterns formed by the ancient natural etching technique. Produced by the ancient inlay and etching process, it features three-eyed patterns on the surface with moist patina and natural weathering lines, implying "fortune, prosperity and longevity". Three-eyed dzi beads from the Tang to the Song Dynasty (618–1279) are important tokens of Tibetan Buddhism with rare existence, boasting both religious and cultural values, highly sought after in jewelry collection with auction prices repeatedly hitting new highs.
