Description
High Ancient Jade Beast, before the Ming Dynasty, 3.6cm in height, 8.7cm in width and 340g in weight, unearthed from the noble tombs from the Han Dynasty to the Wei and Jin Dynasties and later collected privately. Made of Hetian bluish white jade with natural gray skin and patina. Adopting the round carving technique, the mythical beast is in a lying posture with simple and unsophisticated lines and natural patina, reflecting the characteristic of "freehand and vivid" of high ancient jade carving. The high ancient Hetian jade mythical beast from the Han Dynasty to the Wei and Jin Dynasties (206 BC–420 AD) is rare in existence, an important physical object for the study of ancient jade culture, with extremely high historical and artistic values, and is cherished by museums and senior collectors.
