Located at the corner of Muskoka Road and Royal Street, the Royal Hotel, also known as "Cooper's Hotel", was a notable Gravenhurst establishment catering to travellers and tourists. Constructed circa 1860, the hotel became a prominent local landmark before being lost in the Great Gravenhurst fire of 1887. This print is likely a page from a period atlas or souvenir publication of the late 19th century. It exhibits applied colour consistent with commercial printing techniques of that era for such publications and serves as a visual record of a prominent Gravenhurst intersection.
