
This Type 99 rifle was produced at the Kokura Arsenal and is fitted with an early configuration stock and bolt and chambered in 7.7x58 Arisaka. It is fitted with an inverted "V" front sight and adjustable rear sight with the early anti-aircraft wings. It is drilled for a cleaning rod and fitted with a front barrel band with bayonet lug and rear barrel band that can equip a monopod. The receiver has the Type 99 markings with a defaced, but partially visible "Mum" on top. The left side of the receiver has the Kokura Arsenal mark and the "24th series" marking. The bolt is non matching to the receiver and has the early knurled safety. The stock is fitted with sling mounts on the left side and a steel butt plate. LOP: 12 3/4". CALIBER/GA: 7.7x58 Arisaka. Condition
Good - Bore is shiny with visible rifling and light frosting. Stock has visible insect damage. Metal parts show oxidation and butt stock has visible pitting. Cleaning rod is absent.
