
This K98 Mauser Service Rifle is chambered in 8mm Mauser (7,92) and is marked with the S/243 code showing that it was manufactured at the Mauser Borsigwalde Plant. The rifle features matching serial numbers to the receiver, barrel, magazine plate and front barrel band. The bolt does not match the receiver, but the parts of the bolt match to the rest of the bolt. It is fitted with an inverted V front sight and rear sight adjustable for elevation. Below the 24" barrel is the bayonet lug and cleaning rod and will fit to the bayonet. The bayonet includes the scabbard and does not match the serial number. The end of the barrel at the receiver is marked 7,9 and right below on the receiver is the S/243 1937 marking. The right of the receiver has 3 Waffenamt marking that all look to be numbered 211. Mod. 98 is marked on the left of the receiver next to the serial number. There is an Eagle H cartouche on the right of the stock next to the disc and is visible despite wear. Condition
Fair - Stock has scratches and dings from use. Military finish remains with sign of fading and oxidation. Heavy oxidation is visible on magazine plate and butt plate. Mechanics are very good and bore is frosted with good visible rifling.
