When the French occupied the Mauser factory in April 1945, they found all the tooling to produce .22 caliber rifles still in place and good to go. The French military did not have a proper training rifle at the time, and they decided to have Mauser design and produce one. The result was essentially a Mauser KKW action with the detachable magazine from the Mauser 410B and a rear-mounted aperture sight. This rifle features a 24" matte finish barrel with the rear adjustable aperture sight and ramped blade front sight. Mauser style bolt action with a safety and 5-round detachable magazine. Fitted with a one piece smooth wood stock with round knob pistol grip. Equipped with swivel rings and capped with a "MAS" stamped steel butt plate. Includes four total magazines, all stamped "Mod.45" on the base. LOP: 13-3/4". CALIBER/GA: 22 LR. S/N: 16938. FFL: C&R.
Condition
GOOD - frost on bore, good mechanics.
