
This Model 1903 Sporterized rifle was originally made in 1911 by Springfield Armory and chambered in .30-06 Springfield. It features a ramp style front sight and fixed notch rear sight on a 24 3/4" barrel. The top of the receiver reads "US Springfield Armory Model 1903" with the serial number. The side of the receiver has a scope base fitted with 3 screws and has a slot and serrations for fitting a scope. The base is marked with "402" on the left side. The bolt has been fitted with a lower profile safety switch and swept back bolt handle. The original stock has been sporterized by cutting down the length and then fitted with a raised cheek rest and extended pistol grip with added checkering and clear grip cap. The stacking swivel is fitted at the front of the stock and rear sling mount is at the rear of the stock. The back of the stock is fitted with a Kick-Eez rubber recoil pad. LOP: 14 1/4". Good - Original stock shows some dings from service use. Mechanics are good and bore is shiny with visible rifling.
