
This No 1 Mark III* Lee Enfield was manufactured by BSA Co in England in 1918. Consignor lore is that this rifle was a GI bring back from WW1. It features a blade style front sight and an adjustable rear sight, both sights with guards on each side, and is fitted to a 25 1/4" barrel. The receiver is marked with 2 cartouches, one with a crown an "91B" and the other a crown with "GR" and "P" with the crossed flags. Below the bolt near the trigger it is marked with the crown "GR BSA Co. 1918 Sht LE III*". The 5 piece stock is fitted with the stacking swivel next to the bayonet lug, two sling mounts, and metal butt plate with compartment door for a cleaning kit (empty). LOP: 13 1/4". Condition
Good - Mechanics are good. Middle upper hand guard is cracked on top that runs the length of the wood. Stock is missing a chunk of wood directly behind the bolt/receiver. Wood shows dings and scratches for use and wear. Bore is frosted with visible rifling and metal parts show oxidation.
